With wide, strong leaves, this hardy plant is a full, lush variety that is very easy to care for. This rarer variety prefers dry environments with bright light. And while the Expinosae does not require soil, like Tillandsia, this variety is considered a Vriesea not a tillandsia. A Vriesea is one of forty genera of bromeliads. It can be found in its native habitat in the Andes Mountains.
Approximate Measurements: W: 6" x H: 4"
The Vriesea Espinosae comes from Ecuador and grow in clumps in lower mountains of the Andes.
